فقرة جديدة و بادرة هي الاولى من نوعها بالعراق يقوم بيها فريق الاكاديمية العراقية للتكنلوجيا الا وهي بث مباشر على الانترنت و سؤال و جواب لمدة ساعة حول مواضيع مختلفه يمكن للجميع ان يشارك و يتحدث مع ادارة الفريق.

في الجلسة الثانية تحدث احد موؤسسين الفريق عن كيفية مساعدة فريق الاكاديمية العراقية للتكنلوجيا و كيفية الانضمام لها بطريقة و شرح مفصل.

Phase 1 of ITA Sub-Team

 فقرة جديدة و بادرة هي الاولى من نوعها بالعراق يقوم بيها فريق الاكاديمية العراقية للتكنلوجيا الا وهي بث مباشر على الانترنت و سؤال و جواب لمدة ساعة حول مواضيع مختلفه يمكن للجميع ان يشارك و يتحدث مع ادارة الفريق.

في الجلسه الاولى تحدث احد مؤوسسين الفريق عن المرحلة التأسيسية الاولى للفريق و كانت هناك مداخله من احد الاخوة الذي تحمس للفكرة كثيرا و طلب ان ينضم للفريق و هو شاب عراقي يبلغ من العمر 19 سنة لكنه عقل جبار و نير سيكون له مستقبل باهر ان شاء الله و حاليا طالب فنسأل الله ان يوفقه و ان يرفع رأس اهله اولا و العراق اجمع ثانيا.

Here is the answer :)

There is a Lightweight Operating System designed for such low-power machines and it is called: Lubuntu

After installing Lubuntu 14.04 LTS on the above notebook, I have done a test to check how many 'seconds' the machine needs to boot into the desktop and here is the results of my test:

From Power ON to the Login Screen where you enter your password to login to the system:

30 seconds ONLY

After typing the password and from pressing Enter to a fully working desktop:

15 seconds only

That means, this machine needs NO more than 45 seconds from the moment you turn it on to the moment you can start working on your desktop.

Shutting Down the machine needs no more than:

6 seconds only

And it does not matter how many applications you're running 'before' you shut it down, it will shutdown in less than 6 seconds.

Both Screenshots are showing the same state: machine idle sitting on the desktop doing nothing.

So, what exactly am I trying to say here?

Long story short, if you have such machine at your home or you have a friend who has similar machine or a colleague ... show this post to them and if they will NOT believe that? send them to ITA Team and we shall explain to them and answer any question they may have :)

From the screenshots and the memory usage for both Windows and Lubuntu, it shows that Lubuntu works 10 times better, faster, less, etc than Windows on that machine.

[NEW] ITA Team Daily Updates

Dear members of ITA Team and everyone who is following our blog,

Starting from today: Wed - 16th of April, 2014; we shall carry on with a new process:

One post on this blog, almost daily, that will summarize the updates/changes/news/etc of ITA Team to make life easier for everyone. The target is, as always, to KISS (Keep It Simple and Short).

Wed, 16-April-2014 Updates

• The Founders of ITA Team have a high priority task to look after within one week.
• Starting immediately, we hope to publish the summary of all changes, news, etc on this blog. No more so many posts, no more confusions - hopefully.
• Starting from today (16-April-2014), we shall slow down and KISS (Keep It Simple and Short).
• If there is anyone who is interested with the new Sub-Team to be built, please speak directly to the ITA Founder.
• On Sat, 19th of April 2014; ITA Founders and Team Leaders will have a meeting to discuss some new changes to ITA Team - Stay tuned. We shall keep everyone updated, that is for sure.
• The process of migrating from Facebook to Launchpad will be through phases and it will not happen unless we make sure everyone is comfortable to use it. You're just required for now to read more about Launchpad. That is all :)
• Phase 1 of the migrate process from Facebook to Launchpad will be the Mailing List. That is all.

Important Updates

1. Everything starting from this very moment will be through phases.
2. Everything should be Simple and Short and KISS approach to be applied almost all the time.

اعلان مهم من مؤوسسين فريق ITA

السلام عليكم و رحمة الله و بركاته

الاخوات الفاضلات و الاخوة الكرام اعضاء فريق الاكاديمية العراقية للتكنلوجيا تحية طيبة و بعد ...

في البداية تتوجه ادارة الفريق بالشكر الجزيل لكل من تفاعل معنا و انضم الينا و هذه سعادة بالغه لا توصف و نحن فخورين بان نجد الكثير من الكفائات العراقية و العقول الكبيرة في نوعية التفكير و طريقته و هذا بحد ذاته انجاز لا يوصف فشكرا لكم جميعا.

اعزائي نظرا للاقبال الهائل - ما شاء الله تبارك الله - على الانضمام للفريق، قررت ادارة الفريق ما يلي ابتداءا من اليوم لاشعار اخر:

1- نعتذر عن قبول اي عضو جديد في هذه الفترة و لمدة اقصاها اسبوع على اقل تقدير لحين اشعار اخر.

2- نحث و نطلب من جميع الاعضاء المنتمين للفريق و البالغ عددهم حاليا 22 عضو من بين مدير فريق او اعضاء على الاسراع الفوري باختيار احد الاقسام و الفرق ال 25 الفرعية التي تعمل تحت مظلة فريق الاكاديمية العراقية للتكنلوجيا (ITA) ابتداءا من هذه اللحظة و لغاية الساعة 11:59 من مساء يوم الاحد الموافق 13-4-2014 و لقد تمت الاشارة لهذا الامر مرارا و تكرارا في 3 اجتماعات سابقة  و في الكروب الخاص بالفريق على الفيس بوك. 

3- ادارة الفريق تعتذر عن عدم السماح لاي عضو ابتداءا من يوم الاثنين الموافق 14-4-2014 بالبقاء ضمن الفريق بدون اجراء و اتمام الفقرة 2 اعلاه الا في حالة واحدة فقط ﻻ غير و هي ان هناك ظرفا طارئا منع العضو من الاختيار (كما جاء في الفقرة 2 اعلاه) و هذا الاستثناء لا يتم الا بموافقة الاخ اثير و الاخ علي الذين هم مؤوسسين الفريق و الاكاديمية.

4- عملية اتمام بناء فريق متكامل جاهز للعمل على اي مشروع يجب ان لا تستمر للابد و لقد تقرر تحديد فترة مبدئية و هي بداية الشهر الخامس من عام 2014 فترة للبدء في احد المشاريع حسب الاولوية و الاتفاق لذا يرجى من الجميع التعاون التام و عدم اضاعة اي وقت.

5- على جميع الاعضاء التفضل بطرح الاسئلة في حالة عدم وضوح اي شي على الاطلاق مهما كان و في حالة السكوت المطلق و عدم التفاعل بتاتا ف هذا يعني ان العضو الصامت الغير متفاعل باي شي هو عضو غير نشط و غير جاد و الية تحديد هذا العضو ليست صعبة على الاطلاق حيث ان ادارة الفريق تبحث عن الجادين فقط. في هذه الحالة سوف يجتمع اعضاء الادارة لمناقشة الموضوع و قد نضطر متاسفين على اخراج العضو الصامت صمتا تاما من الفريق و لن يعود الا بسبب مقنع و هذا متروك لادارة الفريق المتكونة من الاخ اثير + علي + مدراء الفرق ال 25 باجتماع مغلق.

6- ابتداءا من الاسبوع القادم ان شاء الله من تاريخ هذا الاعلان لن يسمح باستخدام الفيس بوك من قبل اعضاء الفريق الا في الحالات الثلاثة التالية:

أ- استقبال الاعضاء الجدد و الترحيب بهم

ب- اجراء تصويت معين

ج- الاعلان عن وقت و مكان و موضوع الاجتماعات الاسبوعية

البديل للفيس بوك هو Launchpad

كما موضوح بالتفصيل في اجتماع يوم السبت الموافق 12-4-2014 في النقطة 9 تحديدا.

7- على جميع اعضاء الفريق التعاون التام من اجل المضي قدما في عملية بناء الفريق التي لا يجب ان تطول اكثر من ذلك و الاستعداد للبدء بالعمل بالمشاريع ابتداءا ان شاء الله من الشهر القادم كموعد اولي ابتدائي قابل للتغير حسب الحاجة.

ملاحظة مهمة:

من اجل عدم التشتت الذهني و زيادة العبء او التعب الجسدي و كثرة المهام على اي عضو تقرر ان يكون الحد الاقصى للعضو لكي يختار اي فريق من ال 25 فريق هو كحد اقصى فريقين اثنين (2) فقط لا غير.

Minutes of [12-April-2014] ITA Weekly Meeting

Good day,

As always, thank you so much for all those who attended the meeting.

For the very first time of ITA Team History (which is one month and 3 days), Google Hangout on Air was FULL last night and some members couldn't attend due to the limitation of Google Hangout (Max 10 are allowed to join at the very same time). While we're sorry that some couldn't attend, we can't hide our huge happiness because we're growing bigger in both quality and quantity.

For those who couldn't attend and for everyone who would like to follow our weekly meetings, kindly have a look at the Archive of our meetings.

Minutes of The Meeting

1. Members of ITA Team 'must' read the log/minutes of the previous meeting.
2. Members of ITA Team 'must' follow the instructions which have been communicated to all of them and submit the requested information within 24 hours. No excuses to be accepted.
3. Members of ITA Team 'must' read this post as requested a week ago. No excuses whatsoever to be accepted at all.
4. Failure to follow #1, #2 and #3 above means the team member is NOT serious and doesn't want to learn anything nor help the team to be better. This is totally against what has been agreed about and no doubt it is not accepted.
5. Starting from next meeting, because we're more than 10 active members and due to the limitation of Google Hangout on Air, 'only' Team Leaders will be attending the weekly meetings. The Founders of ITA expect your full support in this regard. Team Leaders are requested to explain and communicate with the members of their team and they can host their own internal meetings together if required. This has been agreed long time ago. Dear Team Leaders, The Founders of ITA expect your full help and support.
6. As suggested by Sarmed, Team Leader of Networking Sub-Team, we shall start publishing on our Facebook Page a series of 'Success Stories' for individuals or companies. We highly appreciate any idea that will improve the quality of our Facebook Page and spread the word of wisdom, science and technology.
7. Each and every member of ITA Team is required to help our Facebook Page to reach out to more users on Facebook. It has been agreed that each member is require to help by: Like, Share and/or Comment. The Founders of ITA and The Admins of the Facebook Page are expecting your full help and support in this regard.
8. Isra'a Ali, a member of ITA Graphics Design Team, has proposed a great idea which is a Demo (animation) for all the members of ITA Team. The Demo is 5-10 seconds slide for each member with his/her voice saying a motto of his/her liking and - if desired (NOT a must) - his/her picture OR Avatar to be shown along with their voices. We shall ask for a vote, as agreed. We'd like to thank Isra'a for her great idea.
9. Starting from Next Week, NO further serious communications on the Facebook Group of ITA Team. Instead, our Team and Mailing List on Launchpad will be used instead. This is a MUST-DO step and no further discussion, excuse nor any exception to be accepted. This is for each and every member of the Team (Founders, Team Leaders and Members).
10. ITA Team Facebook Group will be used to welcome the new members and take a vote for any idea/suggestion before any meeting, period. That is all. Also, to create the meetings events.

Minutes of [9-April-2014] ITA Weekly Meeting

Hi,

Yet another great meeting yesterday. Sorry, I couldn't write and publish this earlier.

I'd like to thank all those who showed a great commitment and attended the meeting. Good luck to all those who couldn't attend and hope to see you on the next one.

Attending the weekly meetings, specially for the newcomers to our team is quite important.

For those who couldn't attend and for everyone who would like to follow our weekly meetings, kindly have a look at the Archive of our meetings.

[9-April-2014] ITA Weekly Meeting:

Minutes of The Meeting

1. We're a group of volunteers and we do have busy real life (most of us are Master Degree Students) and therefore, everyone is required to show a great commitment and respect to this fact. That said, if you can't attend any meeting, kindly make sure to let the host (Atheer and/or Ali) know about it 'before' the meeting. We do understand if you failed to inform us 'before' the meetings if you have a special case.
2. Starting from next meeting, we shall wait NO MORE than 5 minutes Maximum.
3. ITA Sub-Teams Structure has been approved and starting from 10th of April, 2014 any member of ITA Team must find a Sub-Team to join. Any new member to ITA Team needs to join a Sub-Team as well. This is very important and a must.
4. [Vote] 'Others' Sub-Team with 4 votes vs 1 vote to be renamed to 'Mac and Mac OS' Sub-Team. We can ask for a final vote on our Facebook Group.
5. Any Member of ITA Team can join more than one Sub-Team, no problem with that.
6. Team Leaders of any Sub-Team can only lead One Sub-Team, no more.
7. Team Leaders of any Sub-Team can lead one team only and be members of any Sub-Team of their choice.
8. Having 25 Sub-Teams is not a separation but rather for organization and administration purposes.
9. When there is any project, more than one Sub-Team will work together, side by side on that project.
10. [Suggestion/Vote] All the members of ITA Team to join The Brainstorming Sub-Team by default. We can ask for a final vote on our Facebook Group.
11. We share tons of ideas. Sometimes, we forget an idea so in order to make sure that we will never miss anything, any member of ITA Team is required to send his/her idea(s) to: ita-team AT lists DOT launchpad DOT net - to reduce the spam, I have replaced (@) and (.) with "AT" and "DOT" - you need to back to the original symbols before using the email.
12. Sarmed, Team Leader of Networking Sub-Team suggested to start publishing some successful stories on our Facebook Page. The idea was approved and accepted by the founders of ITA and the other members.
13. It has been agreed to use: http://ita-team.blogspot.com as our official channel on the Internet. In the future, we shall have a website but it is too early for that and until then, this blog will be used instead.
14. ITA Team now has sisters and brothers. It is great to have both genders at the same team.
15. A Jordanian Team is interested about our Team and they would like to talk to us so there might be a meeting between The Founders of ITA Team and the Jordanian Team. 

Again, I'd like to thank each and everyone who attended the meeting and good luck next time for all those who couldn't make it.

Let's move forward with a rock solid steps, as always and let's keep up the great work!
